INTERVIEW WITH emilie

What does doing your Dada mean to you?
Doing my Dada means doing what I love. First of all, teaching yoga and running my own studio — sharing this passion gives me energy every day. Also in my work as kine, I love to support people and see them grow. And then lastly I feel a strong connection with water… surfing, swimming, kite surfing — it’s where I feel most free, focused, and at peace. Water teaches me to move, adapt, and let go.

Biggest obstacles on your path?

For me, the hardest is setting boundaries, to know my limits and protect my energy. I also doubt a lot, so big decisions feel heavy. Buying my own studio was a huge step — I love freedom, so commitment is not always easy. But this choice gave me trust in the process, more confidence, and a place where I feel grounded and secure.

 Your mantra?
My mantra is simple: be gentle and kind. For me, kindness is a quiet strength — choosing compassion over judgment, patience over pressure, presence over perfection. It starts with how I treat myself and flows to others. I believe the energy we carry is the energy we attract. When we are real, respectful, and kind, we draw in people who lift us up and give energy instead of taking it. In the end, energy creates energy.

Biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration is my mother. She gave me a lot of freedom while growing up, and that freedom still makes me feel alive. I admire her simple and honest way of living, true to herself. She built her own career and also teaches yoga, so our paths are naturally connected. Even the name of my studio,Yoga Nirmala— meaning purity and clarity — comes from her.

How do you find balance?
I make time for myself — with sports, movement, or just slowing down when I need it. Teaching doesn’t really feel like work, because I love sharing my passion. My schedule has natural busy times and quiet ones, which helps me recharge. And I love to travel, it gives me fresh energy and new inspiration.

“Be kind, stay present, do what you love — and keep a sense of freedom in everything you do.”

How do you deal with failure?
I didn’t face big failures, but of course some things don’t go as planned. I try to see those moments as lessons. They make me stronger and more resilient.

A bold move you made?
Buying my own studio was a big risk for me. But it turned out to be the best decision. It gave me confidence, trust in the process, and a space where I feel grounded and secure — in life and in work.

Your advice for others?
Be kind. Stay present. Do what you love. Keep moving — in body and in mind. And always keep a sense of freedom in what you do.

What is success for you?
For me, success is personal growth, becoming the best version of yourself. It’s not only about goals or achievements, but also about the energy you carry and how you show up in life. Success is creating good memories and living true to yourself.

10. Your next dream?
To keep growing my studio and enjoy everything that comes with it. I want to build a strong network of people with the same energy and mindset. I feel I’m already on the right path.
